Smash Tennis

A wonderful tennis game for the Super Nintendo

Developed and published by Namco, Smash Tennis was released in Japan on 1993, and later in Europe on 1994. We all know the jewel in the crown of tennis games on the Super Nintendo is Super Tennis, but this one shouldn't be looked down upon.

It's true that maybe Smash Tennis is a little bit too easy. I was able to "complete" the game in about 3 hours. By complete I mean winning the Grand Slam, your earn that after winning the 4 tournaments. No opponent really put me in trouble, and maybe increasing the difficulty a bit would have made the experience more rewarding, but still, it was overall fun, the gameplay is solid and the ball striking system feels quite satisfying.

You have 20 characters to choose from, but unfortunately you cannot check their stats, you cannot even see how they look like, you just get their names. I have looked for a list with their attributes on the internet but it doesn't seem to exist. Saving system is with passwords, after completing a tournament you get your code.

Obviously it has a multiplayer mode, but I wasn't able to test it. I'm sure you'll have a blast playing this with some friends.
